Kensa has announced a new partnership with Passiv UK to bring smart, intuitive heating controls to homes across the country - helping heat pump users cut heating bills by up to 30% through real‑time optimisation and intelligent tariff management.
The Passiv Smart Thermostat now works out‑of‑the‑box with Kensa heat pumps, giving homeowners and residents simple, powerful control that automatically fine‑tunes heat pump performance for comfort and efficiency. This includes dynamic flow‑temperature optimisation that replaces manual setup and makes it easier for households to get the best from their low‑carbon heating system.
There’s no extra effort required for homeowners. The system provides intuitive, easy‑to‑use controls, either through the thermostat on the wall or via the Passiv app. Everything works automatically in the background, meaning users get all the benefits of smart optimisation without added complexity.
Ned Lamb, Director of Commercial Strategy at Kensa, said:
Our mission is to deliver heating that’s better for everyone. Being able to specify the Passiv Smart Thermostat with no extras needed means homeowners and residents can reduce bills, make the most of smarter tariffs, and enjoy year‑round comfort.
As part of the partnership, Kensa customers will also gain access to Passiv’s Greener Grid Payments, enabling households to earn money for supporting the electricity grid during periods of high demand - without impacting comfort. Heat pumps flex automatically in the background, allowing users to benefit from smarter tariffs, renewable generation, and flexibility markets.
Ian Rose, Sales and Strategy Director at Passiv UK, added:
This is the future of home energy. With smart controls built in, heat pumps take care of themselves - keeping homes comfortable, cutting energy use, and even letting homeowners earn money when the grid needs them most.
The Passiv Smart Thermostat is available nationwide through Kensa, offering a simple, future‑ready route to lower‑cost, low‑carbon heating for private homeowners, social housing providers, and new‑build developers.
