The Kensa Group, the ground source heat pump market leader based in Cornwall, has announced that long-time Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Simon Lomax, is stepping down due to health reasons with immediate effect.
Kensa Contracting MD, Matthew Trewhella, has been appointed as CEO. The Kensa Group has also taken the opportunity to further strengthen the board – Kensa Heat Pumps MD, James Standley has been appointed as Chief Operating Officer (COO). Lomax will support the leadership transition and serve as a Strategic Advisor to the Kensa Group Board to provide continuity in client and business development activities.
Under Lomax’s leadership, Kensa has emerged as the clear market leader with Kensa Heat Pumps (https://www.kensaheatpumps.com/) manufacturing almost 50% of all the ground source heat pumps sold in the UK in 2021. In addition, Lomax was heavily involved in the creation of Kensa Contracting (https://www.kensacontracting.com/), a specialist networked heat pump installation business, and, more recently, Kensa Utilities (https://www.kensautilities.com/), a business set up to fund, own and maintain the underground infrastructure associated with ground source heat pump technology. He also led the fund-raising round which resulted in significant investment from Legal & General Capital in 2020 and is a former Chair of the Ground Source Heat Pump Association.
